The "The Bouquet of Hope Art Exhibit - 2010" was even more successful than we anticipated for no other reason than the generosity and kindness of some notable organizations and people we would like to publicly thank as our sponsors donating prizes and giveaways for the K-12 art exhibit and evening gala.

To the following:

"The Bouquet of Hope Art Exhibit - 2010" is taking place on Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Gallery Gachet, while K-12 student artwork goes on display that weekend at various metro Vancouver community centers including the Roundhouse Community Center and Hastings Community Center.
Please do drop us a line if you have any questions after reading below.

Attention all Budding BC K-12 Artists and Art Teachers!

How would you like to have one of your art pieces auctioned off @ a bona fide art gallery? Plus know your artwork on display and its sale is going toward helping the homeless and marginalized people in your community?

The Bouquet of Hope Art Exhibit and Evening Gala - ‘10:

  • The Canadian Flowers for Food Society – Bouquet of Hope - Evening of Art Gala and Exhibit is a weekend event for all Metro Vancouver families bringing communities together through the expression of art recognizing the plight of those living in poverty and marginalized groups.

  • The Bouquet of Hope Art Gala collects art work from Vancouver students (K-12) and displays their art at a local community center for family and friends to view.

  • The Canadian Flowers for Food Society – Bouquet of Hope - Evening of Art Gala and Exhibit begins with a semi-casual (first) Evening of Art Gala leading into an on-line streaming video (live) auctioning of art work.

  • The Bouquet of Hope is scheduled to take place the weekend of June 25th, 2010 at one or several Vancouver parks boards community centers.

  • Parents and friends of participating students are encouraged to join the Evening of Art Gala and/or view their child's artwork with family and friends at a nearby community center.

  • In addition to inspiring young artistic talents, the Bouquet of Hope encourages young people and children to take a closer look at the social problems in their communities and city while thinking on the issues (introduced by their teachers and CFFFS stats) and even possible solutions.

  • The primary design, purpose, and goal of the annual Bouquet of Hope K-12 Art Exhibit is to establish a conduit for free expression and communication with the youth of all ages in our communities.

  • The Bouquet of Hope Art Exhibit Process, Submissions, and Timeline:

  • The CFFFS will announce the Bouquet of Hope Art Exhibit to VSB K-12 schools and education facilities within the three weeks of March, 2010.

  • All art work is asked to be delivered to our pre-show holding room (TBA) where all art is to be stored prior to the gala to ensure the selected art pieces are on location in time for the gala and auction.

    K-12 Student Submissions:

  • The Canadian Flowers for Food Society is accepting all artwork entries from each student at participating schools in the Vancouver School Board.

  • Artwork submissions must contain some element of flora within themes representing or ranging from social and/or environmental concerns

  • We ask the schools, teachers, and their students to decide on the finalist entries from their schools to foster more dialogue amongst students regarding the issues or images they have chosen to express. We have purposely labeled the event for students as an exhibit as opposed to a contest to encourage students to express openly without fear of judgment of their ideas and art work.

  • All finalist entries (in each grade category) are placed in a lottery system to decide on a final winner for enlargement. This lottery chosen finalists (one from each grade) will have their art work enlarged to poster size, and professionally framed.

  • Local Artists Submissions:

  • Local artists who submit their art work (and are accepted) to the Bouquet of Hope Art Gala and Exhibit are encouraged to donate 40 per cent of their sale to the Canadian Flowers for Food Society.
