Judging The Homeless

This is Colin with flowers from Flowers for Food

This is Colin, a truly wonderful man who resides at the Granville Residence on Granville street.

The unexpected reality is Colin still has many aspirations and dreams but unfortunately so few opportunities and resources ($375/mnth) to work with.

At a glance, Colin's story is not seen as unique because he is only one of thousands of marginalized homeless people that society and governments in North American commnunities are chosing to ignore; however beneath the surface Colin's life story is as complex and unique as yours or mine - not too surpringly. The only difference is that he has suffered two severe head injuries, but still insists on 'paying his way' as he puts it.

Because of his injuries Colin often takes his time speaking in conversations, but once a pace is set you are let into his world flowing with lucid ideas, wonderful stories, life achievements, and aspirations yet fulfilled.

He uses the funds he generates via CFFS flowers to support his writing (theatrical) projects. It was not too long ago Colin was once a commmunicatins specialist in Vancouver with an impressive portfolio.

Colin tells us he would like to eventually create and coordinate a tour of BC waterways on a cruiser (performance barge) with a Celtic music group of performers and acting troop. The barge would stop at all island towns and coastal communities. For now though you will find Colin on Robson Street every Thursday and sometimes Saturdays.

Our goal is to continue helping Colin and others like him. Please consider donating a small amount to help us to help others in need of a break to stand up.
